In June 2026, we (Kanisha and Xavier Parker) opened the doors to Good Taste Bookstore & More in Burleson, Texas. We had a vision for a Christian bookstore that felt different—a place where people could find good books, good coffee, and good times; where Christian authors and creatives could be celebrated; and where people could gather, connect, fellowship, and grow.
Just a few months later, we’re seeing that vision begin to take shape. And now, we’re asking you to invest in Good Taste to propel that vision forward.

Why we're asking for your help
Opening a small business is an act of faith.
While our opening weekend and first month were encouraging, business slowed significantly in August, and September has presented an even greater challenge. Outside of the bookstore, we both still work full-time, and have been using our personal income to help support the bookstore while we establish ourselves.
We knew building something from the ground up would require sacrifice. But we also know that we cannot personally carry the bookstore indefinitely.
That's why we're inviting our community to become part of the next chapter of Good Taste.
We believe in Good Taste, and we believe there is so much more work for us to do. With your help, we can make all of our plans for Good Taste Bookstore & More a reality.
